Snapshots from London

I’ve been on a bit of a hiatus these past two weeks since we arrived home from our European adventure. I started my first “big girl” job the day after we got back and it’s been exhausting trying to unwind from our trip while getting adjusted to working full time. We ended our adventure in London, so I thought it would be good to talk a little about our time in London before going back and writing more detailed posts on everything we did in each of the other 15 cities.

My main motivation for wanting to go to London was getting to tour Warner Bros. Studio where the filming of all the Harry Potter movies took place. Touring the studio was probably my favorite thing we did on the whole trip. It was really incredible to see the different sets, costumes and props that were used during filming. It’s pretty amazing just how much had to go into creating all 8 movies.

It was a dream to get to walk through the Hogwarts front doors (just like the actors did!) and explore the many different sets that you see in the movies. From walking through the Great Hall to standing inside Dumbledore’s office to knocking on the front door of number 4 Privet Drive, each section of the tour just got better and better. I’m not going to go into too much detail on the tour because it really deserves its own post, so I promise to do a much more detailed post about the studio tour with a lot more pictures!

Since we only had two days in London and touring Warner Bros. Studio took up almost a full day, we had to pick and choose what we wanted to do since there is so much to see in London. We decided to take a trip up in the London Eye so we could get panoramic views of the entire city.

Sant and I are big fútbol (soccer) fans and we loved touring FC Barcelona’s stadium so we decided to take a tour of Emirates Stadium, home to Arsenal FC. Unfortunately, the field was covered in a white tarp while we were there, but we got to see the home and away locker rooms, sit in the Arsenal dugout seats, and much, much more.

After the London Eye and touring Emirates Stadium, we didn’t have very much time left in London so we decided to take a walk by Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, and Big Ben.

We just began to scrap the surface of all that London has to offer. Two days is definitely not enough time to see everything worth seeing (especially if you spend a whole day at Warner Bros. Studio, haha!).

Over the next several months, I will be going back and writing more detailed posts on all the amazing things we did, saw, and ate on our 5 week adventure through Europe. Have you been to London? What is your favorite thing to do in London?

  1. Been there twice and it’s one of my favorite city in the world (although I haven’t visited many yet). I just really enjoy the joyful atmosphere and wandering through the street observing such a remarkable architecture. Especially loved Covent Garden and the touristic places you visited!

  2. Fifteen cities – how incredible!! You must have had such a marvelous time. I loved the photo of you in front of the palace. I can understand why two days is not nearly enough time to spend in London!

I hope everything is going well with your new job. I look forward to seeing more photos of your incredible trip!

    • It really was an incredible trip and I’m so excited to get to share it with everyone else now that I’m back home. I definitely think my boyfriend caught the travel bug 🙂
