“Wherever you go, go with all your heart.”
The Sacred Heart Basilica of Montmartre, or Sacre-Coeur, is a major landmark in Paris. Montmartre is one of the most historic and interesting neighborhoods in Paris; with the Basilica of Sacre-Coeur situated on the crest of the hill this is one area of Paris you don’t want to miss. My friends and I were on a tour of Montmartre and our tour guide kept telling us she was going to give us a great view of the basilica. She didn’t disappoint, around the corner we walked and there it stood in front of us, the huge white Sacré-Coeur, it really was an incredibly beautiful view of the church.
After snapping tons of pictures of the back of the basilica we hurried around to see the front of the Sacré-Coeur and to view Paris from the highest point in the city.
You can’t miss wandering to the top of Montmartre to see the Sacred Heart Basilica and get stunning panoramic views of Paris. Sitting on the steps in front of the Sacre Coeur is the perfect place to watch the sun rise or set over Paris.
