The Roman Colosseum is a three tier amphitheater in the center of Rome, Italy and is considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering. The Colosseum is one of Rome’s most popular tourist attractions and is located just east of the Roman Forum. The Colosseum is one of the largest amphitheaters in the world and was used for gladiatorial contests and other public spectacles.

In addition to gladiatorial shows, the Colosseum also hosted another popular show called the animal hunt. This type of show included creatures such as rhinoceros, hippopotamuses, elephants, panthers, leopards, bears, tigers, and many more. The three tiers of seating was constructed to hold between 50,000 and 80,000 spectators with approximately 80 entrances.
