The Louvre and Jardin des Tuileries

My tour guide in Paris told us that if you were to view every piece of art in the Louvre for 30 seconds from open to close with no breaks for food, bathroom, etc. It would take over 3 months to see everything.

WOW. As one of the worlds largest museums, the Louvre holds around 35,000 pieces of art including the very famous Mona Lisa. Now, I’ll be completely honest with you.. I don’t know much about art nor is learning about art one of my favorite hobbies, BUT the Louvre is definitely worth a stop, even if you only spend an hour inside. Like I said, I don’t know much about art but inside of the most popular museum in the world, I found several pieces of art that I recognized and I’m sure you will too! And of course, you have to go take a “selfie” with Mona 🙂

If you’re planning a visit to the Louvre, I would recommend only spending 2-3 hours at most exploring the artwork inside. It’s impossible to see everything in one trip and you’ll go crazy staring at artwork endlessly all day.

After the Louvre, get outside and enjoy some time in the Jardin des Tuileries, it’s located right next to the Louvre and is the perfect place to grab a chair and people watch on a beautiful day, because who doesn’t love people watching?

My favorite part of the Louvre was getting to see incredible artwork from around the world (and recognizing some of it haha) and of course seeing the world famous Mona Lisa. Before I saw the Mona Lisa in person, I never realized how small the actual painting is! I also really loved walking through the Jardin des Tuileries after spending a few hours in the Louvre. It was an awesome way to unwind and enjoy the beautiful weather.
